Annually, we gather together with members of other Sai Centres within our region to plant trees and clean up a local park/area across the City as a part of Toronto’s signature tree planting event that takes place each year on the last Saturday in April. This initiative is organized by Trees Across Toronto, the city’s native tree and shrub planting program. The program responds directly to the tree canopy goal and is a major step forward in reclaiming some of our underdeveloped and “un-treed” lands. Our group assists in planting trees using the tools, materials and instructions provided by the City and the professionals overseeing the event. Throughout the years, we have been involved in planting thousands of trees across the City.
